Don’t forget! Wind Ensemble is rehearsing after school tomorrow. Scheduled to 4pm BUT I will try to let you out early-depends on how rehearsal goes.
Here is information for the upcoming Suncoast Honor Band Auditions. I have placed all of the pdf files for the music at the following link:
Thursday, March 9th 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. This is only for students who are not able to audition on the 11th due to spring break travel or testing conflicts. Judges will not be present at this audition; we will record the students (like all state auditions). Judges will listen to the recordings on the 11th at the end of the day.
Saturday, March 11th 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Students will play their lyrical exercise, technical exercise and scales for the judges. Middle School should have at least five scales prepared and will be given more credit for each scale beyond five. High School students are required to have seven scales prepared and will be given more credit for each scale beyond seven.
Our Audition site is still being confirmed by school administrators and will be emailed to you later this week. Audition Results will be emailed on or before Tuesday, March 14th.

What: FBA Jazz MPA
When: Wednesday, Feb. 8th
Where: Lemon Bay HS
Dress: same as Fall concert
This year since the MPA location is so close we are going to meet at the site rather than take a school bus. This will require planning by students and parents to make sure all of our band members arrive on time with the proper equipment.
Wednesday, Feb. 8th
2:00pm- Rhythm section from BOTH jazz bands report to bandroom to pack up rhythm section and load trailer. I would like to take risers with us just in case we need them. Chairs and stands will be provided by the host site.
• Remember to take all extension cords and power strips!
2:45pm- Approximate departure for LBHS EARLIER IS BETTER!!!
3:15pm- Approximate arrival at LBHS. Unload and head to warmup. Rhythm section report to stage area with parent volunteers so that you are ready to set up. 7th period students assist setting up.
3:30pm- Warm up (1st period band)
4:00pm- 1st period band performs
After performance keep rhythm section instruments behind stage. Report to auditorium to watch bands. Bring money for concession stand as we will eat dinner at LBHS. You are dismissed after our performance and you are on your own getting home. You are responsible for your instrument and equipment. You will have to bring it to school the next day the bandroom will not be open until after the 7th period band performs so plan accordingly.
7:15pm- 7th period band warm up. Rhythm section report to backstage and set up as soon as you can.
7:45pm- 7th period band performs.
After performance everyone helps load the trailer. After that you are on your own to go home. We need a few people to help unload the trailer at NPHS please.
1. You are responsible for getting to and from the event on your own. We have not done this before so plan ahead!
2. You are responsible for your instrument, music, and equipment. Don’t assume someone else is doing it for you.
3. Plan to eat something before your performance if you want- there is a concession stand at LBHS. You are on your own for meals.
The after school rehearsals on 2/2/17 and 2/3/17 for the Wind Ensemble have been canceled. Please make a note on your calendar. Our scheduled guest conductor cannot make it on the 2nd and Dr. Bradley will be in Miami on the 3rd. Apologies for the short notice.
