Marching Band Week of 8/21- 8/25:
As of today (8/21 Monday) I am watching the weather for the end of the week. At the present time the plan is to have the students march and play the opener (Mask of Zorro mvt. 1) in full uniform. We will learn how to get on and off the field and review game procedures with students this week during practices. Please be watching Facebook, the band website, and Remind for updates as the weather outlook continues to evolve. I don’t cancel anything until I am sure of the weather. Unfortunately, accuracy is not great until the day before the event, so I will do my best to notify you of any changes. Assume everything happens as normal unless you hear directly from Dr. Bradley.
Here is an overview of marching band practice this week:
Tuesday– Marching Band practice 3:30pm-5:30pm. This looks to be our best weather day so we will plan to spend the entire rehearsal outside learning drill and practicing the halftime show for Port Charlotte Game.
Wednesday– MB practice 3pm-5pm. I need help distributing the marching band shoes that day and we also need to fit uniforms for our new members.
Thursday– MB practice 3:30-5:30pm
Friday- MB practice 2:45-4pm in the Stadium. Students will have a dinner break from 4pm-5pm. Call time is 5:30pm. We load the bus at 6pm for a 6:15pm departure to Port Charlotte HS. Approximate return time is 11:30pm. Students will not be dismissed until all uniforms are turned in, instruments and equipment is put away and the bandroom is cleaned up. Thank you in advance for your patience while I train your students in correct procedure. If everyone does what they are supposed to, we should dismiss about 30 min. after we arrive at NPHS. This will get faster as students fall into a routine.
****NOTE: ALL TRAVEL FORMS MUST BE RETURNED AND NOTARIZED BY FRIDAY***** Your student will not be allowed to travel with the band unless they have turned in their travel/medical/emergency forms!!!
